I first heard about Colors! on the Lines and Colors blog. I was so impressed with what I saw, I immediately went out and got a Nintendo DS. Not being a gamer, I was still a little skeptical about the quality of the app, especially since it was a “homebrew.” Colors! along with the DS is just awesome, period. The app works great and it is totally suitable for thumbnails and even more finished work. The DS screen is bright enough, that digital painting outside is now a real possibility. My thanks to Jens Andersson for giving artists a really wonderful tool.  

I’m a big fan of Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, the strong sense of narrative in the songs really get my imagination working. This is what I hope will be a start of a series of pieces inspired by music, both by Nick Cave and others.

I have listened to Metallica since the days of cassette tapes, virtually since time began. I recently watched the documentary “Some Kind of Monster” which shows a decidedly different side to the band, which made me appreciate them more as people. So, I decided to do a quick and dirty portrait of James Hetfield.

I love everything that H.P. Lovecraft wrote, his stories are so victorian and florid, especially in what they omit. I started sketching one day and this fellow came out.
