Centurian

centurianI was thinking about the crucifixtion and it occured to me that it would be really cool to have spoken with the centurian who witnessed the whole thing and get his thoughts about it. I imagine it would have been something that he would have had to get away and digest for awhile. I made no attempt to make this historically accurate, so he might not look very realistic to anyone enjoying Roman history.

Anime Elvis

animeelvisI was reminiscing the other day about all these old Japanese cartoons I used to watch, Go Nagai giant robot type stuff. So I decided to do a sketch that would capture the crazy look of those characters. The More I worked on it the more it seemed to look like Elvis, so I just went with it!

Airship

In trying to think of the most dramatic way to depict a gigantic airship, I thought about such a ship blotting out the sun as it flew over. From that point it became a techinical exercise to see if I could capture that sense of light being blocked by an object. DigitalAirship138

INTO THE VOID

This was an experiment in tone. I wanted to create a very solid figure that still had a sense of etherealness to it. Digital06.11.18-Into-the-Void
